I got some SoftPaws in blue and put them on my cat’s claws. She still has good traction because the soft paws things are soft vinyl and though they are rounded they still have a sort of a point to them. She can still jump up onto things without slipping. They weren’t all that hard to put on her. She wasn’t pleased with the process, but she hates getting her claws trimmed too, and it wasn’t any harder than that and at least I don’t have to do it as often! It was kind of tricky to get them on at first, but once I got more used to how to do it they went on pretty fast. A couple came off at first but I replaced them and then they stayed. After the first few applications she has gotten better about having them put on her and doesn’t mind it as much anymore. One of the main reasons I got them was because she has bad claws that tend to split and when they grow out she snags her claws on the carpet a lot. Strange in a cat with retractable claws, I know! The soft paws claw cover things helped her a lot. Her claws were protected and had a chance to grow stronger while the covers were on and they don’t split as badly any more. I will use these rather than declawing a cat any day. I put them on all 20 of my cat’s claws.

Travel to Dubai?

1. There are hardly area’s that are dangerous in Dubai, but there might be area’s that you would feel less comfortable. Walking through Karama makes you think you ended up in India. During rush hour it can be difficult to get a taxi in the Bur Dubai area. You might book a taxi by telephone. Travel page: http://www.startpagedubai.com/travel.htm 3. Not really. You are in a Muslim country so keep it decent in shopping malls (not a sexy top with mini skirt). But you will see that it is a mix of Asian, Arab & Western expat people and a minority of locals. 4. Only during Ramadan Dubai looks different and has restrictions concerning food in daytime. Kwanzaa consists of seven days of celebration, featuring activities such as candle-lighting and pouring of libations, and culminating in a feast and gift-giving. It was created by Ron Karenga, and first celebrated from December 26, 1966, to January 1, 1967. Karenga calls Kwanzaa the African American branch of “first fruits” celebrations of classical African cultures. It is not a religious holiday and has nothing to do with Christmas or Hannukah. EDIT-You can find what to do each night on the official Kwanzaa website. Yes I am going to give you the website, because it would involve too much typing otherwise. http://www.officialkwanzaawebsite.org/index.shtml

more questions about depression/cutting?

I don’t have your problem so I can’t really say, but I can only imagine that you are doing this as an outlet to your anger. It seems to me that maybe you could learn to get that out in another way, such as through art?? There are so many forms of art - writing, […]

I don’t have your problem so I can’t really say, but I can only imagine that you are doing this as an outlet to your anger. It seems to me that maybe you could learn to get that out in another way, such as through art?? There are so many forms of art - writing, poetry, sketching. Or maybe an activity such as running or swimming. You need to be in control of something in your life, and art is so personal - it is yours alone. You need to learn to love yourself. You are a person. Would you cut another person? Why not? Make a point to do something nice for yourself every day. Even if it is just buying yourself some strawberries or something small. It is just a habit you can get into slowly. Maybe you are uncomfortable with feeling good - it is too foreign? So start small with baby steps. Are there any good self-help books in the library? I hope I have helped a little - my heart goes out to you.

Sanyo Z4 or ThemeScene HD70 Projector???? one LCD one DLP. Both about the same price.?

I’d recommend the Sanyo Z4 in this instance for a number of reasons, but what may be helpful would be to explain it this way - Sanyo has a premier home theater projector in the sub-$2000 category released each September and runs until the “new” version is released the following September. I’d recommend the Sanyo Z4 in this instance for a number of reasons, but what may be helpful would be to explain it this way - Sanyo has a premier home theater projector in the sub-$2000 category released each September and runs until the “new” version is released the following September. (Z1, Z2, Z3, Z4 and now Z5). Sanyo puts great effort into making sure their model is the best option available in this price category every year … and the sales numbers represent this. It’s always the #1 or #2 seller overall in home theater for each year. Where as the Optoma HD70 is quite simply Optoma’s “cheap” entry into the home theater market. Their HD72 would be a much fairer comparison to the Z4. Another way to look at it … the Sanyo Z4 is a 2006 Mustang GT. Where as the Optoma HD70 is a 2007 Ford Focus (not to knock on the car). Obviously there are a number of performance, warranty and convenience reasons to lean toward the Sanyo on top of this. I hope this helps.

Can you go to the lunch time in Hometown buffet and stay for the dinner?

Yes you can — the Hometown Buffet changes over for dinner at 3:30 PM Monday through Saturday. What this means is that the price at the register changes to the dinner price at 3:30 PM and the food at the buffet stations are changed over at that time. In other words, the time you reach […]

Yes you can — the Hometown Buffet changes over for dinner at 3:30 PM Monday through Saturday. What this means is that the price at the register changes to the dinner price at 3:30 PM and the food at the buffet stations are changed over at that time. In other words, the time you reach the register determines whether you pay for lunch or dinner. If you are lucky enough to come in like around 3:00 PM — you can go ahead and pay the lunch price and then enjoy some of lunch entrees before getting ready for dinner at 3:30 PM (you’ll see them change out all of the food in the buffet at that time). You then simply go and get another serving, which is dinner. Be warned though, especially on Saturday Afternoons, people know of this trick, and at least the Hometown Buffet near my house, the line will be VERY LONG AND OUT THE DOOR starting a little after 3:00 PM as people try to get dinner at the lunch price. So if you are lucky to be the person who gets their meal rang up by the register at 3:29 PM — you get the lunch price. If your unlucky and reach the register at 3:30 PM — you will have to pay the full dinner price. I’ve see a lot of anxious people right before 3:30 PM hoping and praying the person isn’t slow in paying at the register so that they can get to the register by 3:29 PM and get the lunch price.

Accuracy has always been a question. But it’s the best the industry has at the moment. The system works like this. The ratings companies (Nielsen, Arbitron, etc). will gather information from a small group called a “statistical sample” through the use of phone poles, diaries and People Meters. In all cases the people know that they are part of the sample group and are paid a small amount for their participation. The actual participants are a closely guarded secret. The information is gathered and subjected to some mathematical magic based on the principles of statistics to predict the habits of the entire population. *** In other words, they take the viewing habits of that small group and say the entire country is doing the same thing.*** Stations can and do go to the ratings companies and audit published results. And they do find errors. I remember one station I worked for about 20 years ago that got a rating book that said we were the most viewed station in the market, sign on to sign off seven days a week. We didn’t believe it, our competition didn’t believe it, but that’s what the book said and we sold a lot of advertising that quarter.

I’ve been telling people here for a while now, that its a well known fact thats Sprint disables users from transferring their own files (mp3 files) as ringtones. They do that to make more money selling ringtones. They even disable Bluetooth, There is one site called Ventones “ventones” (dot com) where you can 1) upload the mp3 file 2) select the ringtone part 3) they text you a link 4) you use your phone’s browser to download it 5) works awesome and its a FREE service Even if you do figure out a way to load the mp3 file by means of a data reader or a cable or infrared, or what not, once you navigate to the file, you’ll see that the “Set As Ringtone” option will be disabled. If you need help, email me. The only site that I use consistently and works for my Alltel and Sprint phones is Ventones.

How do I reduce the size of .avi files?

YOu can cut it into six parts! The only other option is going to another format with more compression and a loss of both sound and picture quality. MP2, MOV or WMF are you best choices. But it will be web cast quality. First guy right, second guy wrong. Compare your Quick time PRO files […]

YOu can cut it into six parts! The only other option is going to another format with more compression and a loss of both sound and picture quality. MP2, MOV or WMF are you best choices. But it will be web cast quality. First guy right, second guy wrong. Compare your Quick time PRO files side by side with the original AVI. Remember, an AVI file is 1/5 to 1/7th the size of a RAW digital video file! AVI is JPEG. Got take a RAW, TIFF or BMP and turn it into a JPEG and see what you gain insmall file size but lose in picture quality! 4 Mega Bits per second is what a TV image is! You’re trying to get it down to kilo bits per second! Taht requires frame drops, compression, format size changes (720×480 to 320 x 200) and sound going from 16 bit to 8 bit. Or you can cut it into 4 MB parcels!
